The business hotel
A ビジネスホテル room is smaller than an American one by a wide margin and better organized than you expect: a prefabricated unit bath moulded in one piece, a yukata folded on the bed, slippers, and a kettle. Many have a 大浴場, a shared bath on one floor, which is the reason to choose one. Check-in is often after three and check-out at ten, both enforced. Front desk Japanese runs on でございます, the humblest form of です, which is why it sounds so formal.
