Japan's domestic parcel network, 宅配便, delivers inside a two-hour window you choose, and if you miss it a slip comes through the door and you can rebook the same evening by phone or app. The same system will move your suitcase from an airport to a hotel overnight, which is why Japanese travelers get around with so little luggage. The post office handles international mail and will have you fill in a customs form by hand, so allow time at the counter.
