Everyone has a pueblo
Ask a Spaniard from Madrid where they are from and you may get two answers: the city, and their pueblo. The pueblo is the village the family came from, usually a grandparent's, and it stays in the family as a house that sits empty much of the year and fills at Easter, in August, and for the village fiesta. Voy al pueblo needs no further explanation. It is why cities empty in August, why depopulated inland villages triple in size for a week, and why a young Spaniard born in a city can still be from somewhere else.
