The CV has a photo on it
A Spanish CV looks different from an American résumé. A photograph at the top is conventional, and so are details an American application deliberately omits — date of birth, sometimes nationality or marital status. None of it is considered intrusive, and leaving the photo off simply looks unfinished. Interviews open in usted and tend to be more formal than their American equivalent. The other thing worth knowing is that contacts count: enchufe, literally a plug socket, is the word for getting somewhere through who you know, and it is discussed openly rather than denied.
