Your assigned health center
Spanish public healthcare is organized around a centro de salud, the local clinic you are assigned to by address, where a named family doctor sees you and refers you onward. It is free at the point of use, funded from taxes rather than insurance, and residents get a tarjeta sanitaria to prove enrollment. For anything urgent there is urgencias at a hospital, and the number is 112. Pharmacies handle the minor end, as elsewhere in southern Europe, and one in each district stays open overnight on a rota posted in every pharmacy window.
