A night at a 旅館
A 旅館 is not a hotel with tatami. The price is quoted 一泊二食 — one night, two meals — and both are part of the stay: an elaborate dinner served in your room or a dining hall, and breakfast in the morning. You change into a 浴衣 on arrival and wear it around the building, including to dinner. Staff lay out the futon while you eat, so the room you return to is not the room you left. The bath is communal, and washing comes first.
