Sophie and Alex arrange a time and place to meet the next day.
Moi non plus is the standard way to agree with a negative — "me neither." After a positive sentence you would say Moi aussi instead.

1. Telling time — Il est … heures
Every clock time starts with Il est and always keeps the word heures: Il est trois heures. Add et demie for half past and et quart for quarter past. One o'clock is the only one that goes singular: Il est une heure.
2. Ne … pas — making it negative
French negates with two words wrapped around the verb: ne before it, pas after it. Je veux ("I want") becomes je ne veux pas ("I don't want"). Before a vowel, ne shortens to n'.
3. Aller + infinitive — the near future
To say what you are going to do, use a form of aller ("to go") plus a second verb: je vais arriver = "I'm going to arrive." This is how French talks about the near future in everyday speech.
4. On — the everyday "we"
In conversation, French says on where English says "we." It takes the same verb form as il/elle, which makes it easier, not harder: on se retrouve, on va, on peut.

The 24-hour clock
French uses the 24-hour clock for anything scheduled. A train leaves at quinze heures trente, a film starts at vingt heures, a dentist sees you at dix-sept heures. Written down that is 15h30, with an h where English puts a colon. The shorter forms in this lesson are for conversation — il est trois heures over coffee is perfectly normal — but confirm an appointment and people switch to the full form to remove any doubt. Socially the clock is looser than it looks: arriving ten or fifteen minutes after the stated time for dinner at someone's home is expected rather than late.
